CBD's Mission, Vision and Pillars
In search for intense professionalization, better performance, efficiency, productivity and profitability and following the changes implemented in the Corporate Governance model, CBD defined guidelines that will drive its performance in the coming years.
Such guidelines are aligned to the Company's three basic pillars - our people, our technological dominance, and our solid capital structure - which all support our reason for existing: the client.
The new guidelines scope, which has been spread among all employees of the organization includes the Company's Mission and Vision and contemplates a growth plan for CBD in the 2004-2008 period.

The Mission expresses the reason for the company's existence and, at CBD, this translates into a mission that is followed by each Business Unit, according to its positioning, in order to make the client the number one priority of all our work. The Company's goal is to grab the client's attention by satisfying their needs, thereby making each customer a return shopper.
Vision
"CBD aims to enlarge its leadership in the Brazilian retail market, becoming the most admired company in the country due to its profitability, innovation, efficiency, social responsibility, and contribution to the country's development."
CBD's goals are expressed in its Vision, which represents the direction in which the Company intends to accelerate: to be the sales leader, with efficiency, productivity and profitability, always surpassing its competitors, offering innovative products and services, and caring about projects of social responsibility.
